EXTENSION OF VISA
On landing on the Mauritian territory, the Immigration officer verifies four elements governing your stay:

Your nationality
-
Purpose of your visit
-
Duration of your visit
-
Your return ticket
Your passport will be stamped with the appropriate entry visa, with a specific number of days of stay.
In case you wish to extend your stay on the island, you need to visit the Passport & Immigration Office in Port Louis and undertake certain specific proceudures. All visa extensions are free of charge and made only in the Port Louis office.
Documents required for an extension of visa:

Return ticket with new date of return (the extended date)

Accommodation letter or hotel booking

Copy of the Identity card of your host (if applicable) & his proof of address (utility bill)

Proof of financial means you have to sustain your extended stay

Your passport
