OCCUPATION PERMIT - INVESTOR

‘Investor’, as defined under the Business Facilitation Act and the Immigration Act, refers to a non-Mauritian who invests in a business registered and domiciled in Mauritius. The Investor can apply for residency under the Occupation Permit (Investor Category) scheme under the following conditions:

 

  • The investment should be not less than US$100,000 or its equivalent in an acceptable currency

  • The project or business should generate an annual turnover of Rs4 million or more.

 

Occupation permits are granted for a period of 3 years and renewable thereafter under the same conditions as above. 

 

Applications are submitted to the Board of Investment for examination and recommendation to the competent authorities. Occupation permits are issued by the Passport & Immigration Office, under the aegis of the Prime Minister’s Office.
